A village in Maharashtra’s Sangli district has come up with a novel approach to distance itself from the use of electronic gadgets and social media. A siren is sounded every evening at 7 pm from the village temple for digital detoxing. This is a sign that people should turn off their mobile phones, TVs and other gadgets. There are 3,105 people living in this village named Mohityanche Vadgaon.
This siren is also indicated that people read books and talk to each other. The second alarm goes off at 8.30, which is an indication that the detox period is over. This routine is followed on Sundays also. The important thing is that the people of the village are participating with great enthusiasm in this new initiative.
