Senator Rose Named Chief Budget Negotiator for Senate Republicans

Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- As work begins on the state’s next budget, State Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) will be leading the efforts for the Senate Republican Caucus as their chief budget negotiator.

“The state’s budget should represent the priorities of the people, because, after all, it is their money that is being spent,” said Rose. “Everyone knows that Illinois has a significant spending problem, so it’s my job to fight to bring sanity to the process.”

As the caucus’s chief budget negotiator, Rose will serve as the ranking Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee. Under new Republican Leader John Curran (R-Downers Grove), Rose has once again been appointed to this role.
