John Carroll University students to attempt breaking Guinness World Record for longest radio interview

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — Next weekend, two John Carroll University students hope to break the Guinness World Record for the longest radio interview, on the campus’ radio station WJCU FM 88.7.

JCU sophomores Zachary Sinutko and Collin Kennedy, the co-producers of “808s & Mixtapes” on WJCU FM 88.7, plan on hosting a 25 hour and 30 minute-long radio interview, according to a press release. The interview is slated to take place from 7 a.m. Feb. 5 until 8:30 a.m. Feb. 6.

The longest radio interview is currently listed as 25 hours 26 minutes long, and it was achieved by Bhanu Bhakta Niraula, the managing director of Himal FM 90.2, and Ang Phinjo Sherpa, a tourism expert and activist in Nepal. The two broke the world record from Nov. 8 to Nov. 9, 2021, according to the Guinness World Records website.
