Reactivating ‘Pardon Committee’ was ‘breakthrough’ in political life: Andmhr study


 


CAIRO – 31 January 2023: The Arab Network for Digital Media and Human Rights [Andmhr] issued on Tuesday a study on the reactivation of the Presidential Pardon Committee and its positive impact on the human rights situation in Egypt and the progress made in civil and political rights.


According to the study, it’s estimated that nearly 20,000 inmates were released, which indicates ‘the existence of a political will that aims to ending the prisoners’ issue’


The study, issued by the network under the title: “Lists of presidential pardons, integration and rehabilitation. Egypt, on the path of reconciliation and reparation” highlighted indications for activating the national strategy for human rights, and building on the actual progress achieved in it during the past two years.
