There has been strong growth in demand for television sets in South Africa, between 2002 and 2006 increasing by 27,5% a year to 1,9-million sets, according to the department of trade and industry. “But demand growth has been met increasingly from imports, which grew just below 50% a year between 2002 and 2006,” says Gelb.
