ST. IGNACE, MI — The Mackinac Bridge Authority is asking motorists to be prepared to drive slower across the Mackinac Bridge Thursday as wind speeds are measuring between 20-to-34 miles-per-hour as of 12:15 p.m.
Because of the wind speeds, the MBA is asking anyone traveling across the bridge to reduce their speeds to 20 miles-per-hour, turn on their four way flashers, and use the outside lane when possible. Motorists in vehicles that are vulnerable to high winds — pickup trucks with campers, motor homes, vehicles pulling trailers and enclosed semi-truck trailers — are asked to use extra caution.
