Enduring act California Speedbag celebrating ‘Little Guns’ vinyl release with Beachland Ballroom gig – News-Herald

Just a couple of Northeast Ohio kids who grew up to help craft an underground alt-country gem of a record — that’s Gary Lupico and Russell Sherman.

Together in the early ‘90s, the musicians as part of Cleveland band California Speedbag released “Little Guns” on cassette.

Now Gotta Groove Recording’s “OH!Wax” series is celebrating the album. Along with previously unreleased songs “It Hurts So Bad” and “Truth Ain’t Never Had a Heart,” the obscure project is finally getting a vinyl release.

California Speedbag is scheduled to perform at the “Little Guns” record-release party taking place Aug. 5 at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland.
