The emergency at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant is still called to be the largest man-caused catastrophe in the history of peaceful atom. Along with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster that occurred in 2011, the Chornobyl tragedy received Level 7 according to the International Nuclear Event Scale.
