Sri Lanka has banned 11 local and international organisations allegedly involved in promoting Islamic extremist ideology, a government spokesman says. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has put into effect regulations under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in Sri Lanka banning the organisations.
