EU summit struggles for relationship with Turkey and Belarus

The EU heads of state and government met for a two-day special summit in Brussels. Central issues are the EU’s relationship with Turkey and the crisis in Belarus. Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) called for EU sanctions against Turkey. Turkey’s “behavior in violation of international law” towards Greece and Cyprus required a clear reaction.
