In the wake of a series of violations of Greece’s FIR and Greek maritime waters, Turkey has deployed the drilling ship Yavuz since May in Cyprus’ EEZ, accompanied by Turkish naval frigates. This is an extremely grave violation of international law, as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
