Renewable Energy Suffers A Rare Slowdown, And Coronavirus Crisis Could Make The Situation Worse

The renewable energy sector suffered its first slowdown on record last year, according to the Abu Dhabi-based International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Globally, some 176 gigawatts (GW) of renewable generating capacity was added in 2019, slightly less than the 179 GW added in 2018.
