Whitsunday Coast Chamber of Commerce President Allan Milostic estimates a third of businesses have been forced to shut in what is usually the region’s peak tourism season. “I’ve been here 25 years and I’ve been through several cyclones, the GFC, international ups and downs, but nothing like this,” he told reporters on Thursday.
