A 22-year-old man who pleaded guilty in the high-profile kidnapping of a Markham international student in March has been sentenced to four years in prison, York Region police said in a news release Friday. Nathan Plater, from the Township of Clearview, was sentenced Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to kidnapping for ransom.
