U.N. Tribunal Finds Former Khmer Rouge Leaders Guilty of Cambodia Genocide

More than 40 years after an estimated 1.7 million people were killed during the Khmer Rouge’s rule in Cambodia, an international tribunal for the first time found two surviving senior leaders of the regime guilty of genocide for their role in the bloodshed and sentenced them to life in prison.
