Antarctica is cold, even in the southern summer – but on very rare occasions Devon can be colder still. Al Jazeera journalist Nick Clark was there at the same time as the “Beast from the East” was hitting the Westcountry, and used a satellite phone to call his family at home near Noss Mayo in South Devon.
