Defence Minister Marise Payne hopes the liberation of Islamic State stronghold Raqqa by Syrian and international coalition forces will discredit the terrorist organisation worldwide. The so-called caliphate has now lost its second de-facto capital following the fall of Mosul in Iraq in July.
