President Donald Trump has twice proposed eliminating federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which roughly accounts for 15 percent of the budget for PBS stations. Even though the House and Senate were both controlled by Republicans, Congress restored the $445 million in funding when it eventually passed the budget.
