“My Mother’s family comes from a region presently in the western Ukraine: Transcarpathia. That’s the Ukraine’s name for our region but we always call it “Carpatho-Russia”. The indigenous people there –the Rusins– are not Ukrainian and in no way identify with Ukrainians.
