David Hartt came to Haiti as a missionary in 1942 with the West Indies Mission (WIM, now Worldteam). Although a missionary pastor by job description, radio was always his passion. He had been a radio ham and experimenter since childhood. Although he didn’t have formal engineering training, he became knowledgeable through self-study.
