Despite the occasional outbursts, the Bledsoes tried not to overreact to Carlos’ planned conversion to Islam. They understood that the arrest had shaken him badly, and he was looking to change his life and become a better person. That he had stopped drinking alcohol, let alone using drugs, seemed positive.
