DirecTV said Tuesday it had net income of $730 million, or $1.44 a share, in the first quarter, up from $561 million, or $1.09 a share, in the year-earlier period. The digital TV company said revenue rose 4% to $8.14 billion. The FactSet consensus was for EPS of $1.54 and revenue of $8.155 billion.
